Aims:
To refresh knowledge of consent in adolescents
Provide a review of the current IACSD standards in relation to sedating adolescents in primary care
To provide case-based information on dental conscious sedation in adolescents
Objectives:
Understand and recognise when it is appropriate to use dental conscious sedation for adolescents
Be aware of some of the anxiety management techniques that can be used as alternatives to conscious sedation, or in conjunction with conscious sedation in this age group
