Chris is a GDP providing NHS & Private care for anxious and frightened patients and has been involved with the production of many of the national guidance documents on dental sedation. He provides medico-legal expert evidence in the UK, Europe and worldwide and is the lead for the SAAD Safe Sedation Practice Scheme - a quality assurance programme. He is a past President of SAAD and The International Federation of Dental Anaesthesiology Societies (IFDAS). Outside dentistry he is a keen aviator and warm water sailor.

Mick is a Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Sedation and Special Care Dentistry at University Dental Hospital and School of Dentistry Cardiff. In 2023 he became part of a Bevan Commission Exemplar reforming sedation and GA services in Cardiff. This project has included use of remimazolam in special care dentistry patients and a cost/benefit analysis of its use in NHS services.
Mick is Dental sedation Lead for Cardiff and Vale UHB, Chair of the Welsh Government Sedation Strategic Advisory Forum and Secretary of the Dental Sedation Teachers Group.

Hiral is a Senior Dental Officer with the salaried dental service at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. She established the IV sedation service in the department about 9 years ago and regularly provides training to specialist trainers and dental teams in conscious sedation techniques for special care patients.

CAPNOGRAPHY MASTERCLASS

Hugo may need no introduction to previous attendees as he has lead the popular 'Human Factors' simulated resuscitation skill station twice before.
This year he will lead an overview of carbon dioxide respiratory physiology and highlight the advantages of capnography over pulse-oximetry. This will include the opportunity to see a capnography monitor in action including all the kit required to use one of these in your practice.
